Awards & Commendations
The following awards were presented at Board of Supervisors meeting on February 7, 2012:
- Commendation for Life Saving presented to Officer Michael Kaminski for performance of life saving acts under adverse conditions which resulted in the successful saving of a life on April 15, 2011.
- Commendation of Merit presented to Detective Craig Rudisill for the performance of an outstanding act of police work, which displayed superior effort, and which resulted in the apprehension and conviction of Tony Vo for First Degree Murder, in the death of Annie Huynh, which occurred on November 8, 2010.
- Distinguished Unit Citations presented to Officer Ryan Hand, Lt. Frank Groome, Sgt. Michael Jones, Detective James Schirmer, and Officer Derek Gale for their outstanding efforts and accomplishments resulting from team work in the investigation, apprehension and conviction of Tony Vo for First Degree Murder, in the death of Annie Huynh, which occurred on November 8, 2010.
- Commendation of Merit presented to Detective Craig Rudisill for superior efforts in conducting a financial investigation into to theft of approximately $100,000.00 from the Brotherhood of Master Plumbers of Philadelphia during June 2011, which resulted in the arrest and conviction of the offender.
- Distinguished Service Awards presented to Officer Michael Kaminski & Officer Derek Gale for exemplary DUI Enforcement in the year 2010, which enhanced the reputation and image of the Upper Southampton Police Department.
- Commendatory Letter presented to Officer Scott Hartranft for an act which brings credit upon himself and the entire Department for his actions in apprehending two Burglary suspects on August 4, 2011.
- Commendation of Merit presented to Lt. Frank Groome for the performance of an outstanding act of police work, which displayed superior effort, and which resulted in the apprehension and conviction of Joseph Glass for Arson and related offenses, which occurred on December 20, 2009.
- Distinguished Unit Citations presented to Officer Michael Kaminski, Sgt. Richard Gruver, Detective Craig Rudisill, Fire Marshal Mark Showmaker, and Assistant Fire Marshal Kenneth Kline for their outstanding efforts and accomplishments resulting from team work in the investigation, apprehension and conviction of Joseph Glass for Arson and related offenses, which occurred on December 20, 2009.
- Citizens Award presented to Patricia Boccella for her quick and invaluable assistance in alerting police of suspicious activity on the evening of October 9, 2011, thus resulting in the apprehension of an individual for Burglary and related offenses and the recovery of stolen property.
- Distinguished Unit Citations presented to Sgt. Frank Walter, Jr., Ofc. William McCloskey and Ofc. Anthony Marsaglia for their efforts and outstanding accomplishments resulting from team work in the apprehension of an individual for Burglary and related offenses on the evening of October 9, 2011.
