Meeting Minutes: January 8, 2005

The January 8, 2005 meeting of the Upper Southampton Township Historical Advisory Board was called to order at 9:05 a.m. at the Township Building. Board members present were Mr. Day, Mr. Faust, and Mr.Vogel.

Approval of the minutes of the Board's December 11 meeting was moved by Mr. faustand seconded by Mr. Vogel.

Mr. Vogel reported on progress in the installation of electric service for the Dry Goods Store; installation and inspection should be completed in a week or so, weather permitting. Authorization to use the CDBG money has finally been received. Mr. Vogel will continue to work on pricing for materials for a heating/air conditioning system, with a separate estimate for labor. Mr. Day will meet with Mr. Golden to review requirements for the use of the grant money (number of estimates needed, bidding requirements, etc.). The Board's goal is to get the maximum amount accomplished with the funds available.

The emergency repairs to the Southampton train station have been completed. Mr. Vogel will meet Mr. Rose at the station next week to take precise measurements of the building, which will be used in preparing plans for restoration.

Mr. Faust and Mr. Day will go to Doylestown to do title searches on several properties.

The Board will invite Hans Peters to its February meeting to discuss possible collaboration between the Watershed Association and the HAB.

At 9:50 a.m. Mr. Faust moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Mr. Vogel.
