Upper Southampton Township Finances

Meeting Minutes: January 9, 2004

The January 9, 2004 meeting of the Upper Southampton Township Historical Advisory Board was called to order at 8:40 a.m. at the Township Building. Board members present were Mr. Day, Mr. Donahue, and Mr. Vogel. Also attending was Mrs. Brager.

Approval of the minutes of the Board's December 12 meeting was moved by Mr. Vogel and seconded by Mr. Donahue.

Mr. Vogel reported that he has purchased the necessary material for hooking up electrical service at the Dry Goods Store and that the bill was submitted before the end of the fiscal year. He will do the work as soon as weather conditions permit. He is still working on the specifications and timetable for the installation of heating and cooling systems. As soon as that is completed, the bidding process will begin.

The Board was pleased to learn of the appointment of David Faust as a new member. The Board looks forward to meeting him in February.

There was an update on the township's efforts to lease the Southampton Train Station from SEPTA. Options for funding emergency repairs and stabilization of the building were discussed.

Mr. Day and Mr. Vogel have begun scanning photos from the Board's collection. As soon as possible, a CD of sample images will be sent to Arcadia Publishing. Assuming that the quality of the images meets with their approval, the Board should then establish a timetable for publication of a book of period photos of Southampton.

At 9:20 a.m. Mr. Donahue moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Mr. Vogel.
