Meeting Minutes: February 12, 2005
The February 12, 2005 meeting of the Upper Southampton Township Historical Advisory Board was called to order at 9:02 a.m. at the Township Building. Board members present were Mr. Day, Mr. Gardocki, and Mr. Vogel; also attending was Mr. Peters.
Approval of the minutes of the Board's January 8 meeting was moved by Mr. Vogel and seconded by Mr. Gardocki.
Mr. Vogel reported on recent meetings of the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Study group.
Mr. Day will write to the Licenses and Inspections Department to confirm that this Board would like to be notified on a routine basis of the issuance of any demolition permits.
Mr. Vogel and Mr. Rose completed taking measurements and photos of the train station, which will be used in preparing plans for restoration. In the process, they discovered a manual signal box in the stationmaster's office. Mr. Gardocki will collect information on the sources of funding for the restoration of the station in Quakertown.
Mr. Peters suggested possible systems that could be used (other than a sewer line) if at some point the station "outhouses" were reconstructed to provide toliet facilities. He also expressed the willingness of the Watershed Association and the Environmental Advisory Council to work with this Board on projects of mutual interest.
To date, Mr. Vogel has scanned over 250 of the photos in the Board's collection. Mr. Day will review the captions and make corrections as needed.
At 10:15 a.m. Mr. Gardocki moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Mr. Vogel.
