Meeting Minutes: March 12, 2004
The March 12, 2004 meeting of the Upper Southampton Township Historical Advisory Board was called to order at 8:40 a.m. at the Township Building. Board members present were Mr. Day, Mr. Donahue, Mr. Faust, and Mr. Vogel; also attending was Mrs. Brager.
Approval of the minutes of the Board's February 13 meeting was moved by Mr. Vogel and seconded by Mr. Donahue.
The Board observed a moment of silence in memory of former member George Lynch.
Mr. Vogel is still working on the preparation of specifications for the heating and air conditioning systems at the Dry Goods Store. If weather conditions cooperate, electrical service should be installed within a month to six weeks.
Mr. Vogel met with Mr. Golden and Mr. Williams to prepare a response to SEPTA's letter requesting additional information concerning our request for a licensing agreement to enable us to do emergency repairs on the Southampton Train Station.
Mr. Day reported on progress on scanning photos from our collection and ones on loan.
The possibility of making and selling copies of Grace Dungan's video on Southampton was discussed. They could be publicized on the township web site, along with the postcard reproductions and medallions that the Board has previously produced. There was consensus that it would be a good idea, as long as there were no objections from the library.
Progress on the acquisition of open space and wetlands by the township, and how this would impact historic sites, was discussed.
At 9:05 a.m. Mr. Vogel moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Mr. Faust.
Respectfully submitted by,
James Day
