Meeting Minutes: September 12, 2003
The September 12, 2003 meeting of the Upper Southampton Township Historical Advisory Board was called to order at 8:55 a.m. at the Township Building. Board members present were Mr. Day, Mr. Donahue, Mr. Lynch, and Mr. Vogel. Also attending were Mrs. Brager and Mr. Golden.
Approval of the minutes of the Board's last meeting was moved by Mr. Donahue and seconded by Mr. Vogel.
Mr. Vogel reported that continuing bad weather has limited work being done at the Dry Goods Store. The erosion barrier from construction of the bio-retention field, have been mowed down. We will try to set up a meeting with representatives from the Public Works Department to avoid this sort of problem in the future. Mr. Golden assured the Board that these problems should be easily resolved. An application for servicing and metering of the building has been filed with PECO. Possibilities for the routing of electric service were discussed and also the need for installation of rear steps. Requests are out for additional work on the building, such as plastering and installation of heating and cooling systems. It is estimated that it will take six to eight months to complete the work for which we have received funding.
Mr. Donahue will visit the Pa. Historical Society to begin investigation of the papers of John Fitch.
Scott Vogel has apparently changed his plans to potentially restore the train station. We will actively pursue all options for preservation of the building which would maintain its integrity.
At 11:05 a.m. Mr. Vogel moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Mr. Lynch.
