Zoning & Construction Permits

A permit must be issued by the Township before work is begun on the following:

  • All new structures or buildings, including residential and commercial buildings, sheds, garages, swimming pools, fences and retaining walls.
  • Additions or alterations to existing structures or buildings (re-roofing, siding, etc.)
  • All electrical, plumbing, heating or air conditioning work.

Tree Trimming

Property owners are reminded that it is their responsibility to control the growth of tree limbs and shrubbery over public roads and sidewalks. Township regulations require that all trees and shrubbery be trimmed so that a minimum unobstructed clearance of nine (9) feet is maintained over sidewalks and eleven (11) feet is maintained over public roads.

Failure to comply will not only result in the imposition of fines and penalties, but will also result in dangerous conditions which affect the safety of pedestrians, bicycle riders and vehicle operators.
