IMPORTANT NOTICE

DEP CHANGES IN RECYCLING OF ELECTRONIC DEVICES

Due to a Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) mandate, we must alert you to this change in law going forward. The Covered Device Recycling Act 108 (DCRA) now prohibits the following electronic devices from disposal at DEP permitted solid waste landfills: desktop and laptop computers, computer monitors, computer peripherals, and televisions. As of January 24, 2013, this ban wil go into effect. On bulk collection day (Friday), should any of these items be at curbside, they will be tagged as non-collectible.

 Manufacturers and retailers are now required to make collection programs for consumers available at their outlets.  Please visit the DEP website by clicking this link for drop off locations.  In addition to the Best Buy Store listed on the DEP website, All Best Buy stores in the area will accept certain items – please refer to their Recycle page by following this link.
